Franklin Field Speedway is dedicated.

It is built by the Dorchester Gentlemen’s Driving Club (incorporated in 1890, but not organized until 1899) at Franklin Field. The track is used for harness racing. Mayor John F. Fitzgerald is a participant and wins one of the races in 1912.
