Frank Oglesby Jr. becomes the “voice of the MBTA.”

A Roxbury native who subsequently moved to Newton, Oglesby graduated from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst and began work at the MBTA in November 1984. He takes on the job of making pre-recorded announcements, a job previously done by motormen with various degrees of professionalism. Although he retires on July 29, 2016, Oglesby continues to do voice work for the MBTA today.
