Frank DiPasquale makes a dramatic recovery from a coma at Massachusetts General.
December 30, 2004
(Dec.) After losing his job as a waiter at Abe & Louie’s at 793 Boylston Street, DiPasquale went on a drinking binge that left him in a three-week coma. Just as preparations are being made to remove him from life support devices, a friend who is in his hospital room calls DiPasquale’s former boss, restaurants owner, Charlie Sarkis. Sarkis asks that the phone be put up to DiPasquale’s ear, then says, “You tell him to wake up, get out of bed, and get his ass back to work.” Five minutes later, DiPasquale wakes from his coma and says, “I’ve got to get back to work.”
