Foster-Hutchinson House is built.

1686

[1690 ca.] Built for John Foster, it is located at today’s 5 Garden Court Street. The house is inherited by his nephew, Col. Thomas Hutchinson, and is the birthplace of his son in 1711.* Nearly destroyed by a mob in 1765,* the house is confiscated and purchased by William Little, who occupied it until his death in 1835. The building is demolished soon after to allow for the widening of the street.
