Fort Hill commune members unsuccessfully attempt to rob a bank.

Chris Thien is shot and killed by police responding to the alarm from the New England Merchants Bank in Brigham Circle. Sheldon Barnhard and Mark Frechette, who had recently starred in a movie directed by Michelangelo Antonioni, are captured, tried, convicted, and imprisoned. Frechette is later killed at Norfolk State Prison in what is described as an “accident” in the prison weight room on September 27, 1975.
