Forbes (James Murray) House is built.

Architect: Peabody & Stearns. Built for the China trade merchant and his family, the organizational meetings for The Country Club take place here. Occupied occasionally by other families, the building remains in the Forbes family until at least in the 1940s. It is subsequently demolished and becomes the site of a playground in 1979.*
