Five candidates elected to the Boston School Committee.

The successful candidates (with vote totals in parenthesis) are incumbent Joseph Lee Jr. (40,184), and newcomers Thomas Eisenstadt (48,681), William O’Connor* (42,344), Louise Day Hicks (40,559), and Arthur Gartland (39,029). Unsuccessful candidates include Mel King (34,654) and Nathaniel Young (33,952).
