First Methodist Episcopal Church in Dorchester (first) begins meeting.

1818

Also known as Fourth Parish, it is a chapel located in a former carpenter’s shop that is later moved to the east side of Washington Street about a quarter mile from Lower Mills and converted to a private home. The congregation began meeting in approximately 1813. The building is replaced by a new building (second) in 1824,* another (third) in 1874,* and then another (fourth) in the 20th century.
