Federal Street Church (third) is built.

Architect: Charles Bulfinch. The only Gothic Revival style building designed by Bulfinch, it is located at today’s 145 Franklin Street. The church is demolished in 1859 and the congregation moves to a new building (fourth) in the Back Bay in 1861.*
