Fear Strikes Out.

Directed by Robert Mulligan and starring Anthony Perkins and Karl Malden, the biographical drama concerns Red Sox outfielder Jimmy Piersall and his battle with mental illness. Critic Paul Sherman points out that the movie mixes real distant game footage “with tighter shots of Perkins and other actors shot in a ballpark that looks nothing like Fenway Park.”
