Exhibition of the works of John Singer Sargent is held

Sargent’s first solo exhibition in Boston, it is held at the St. Botolph Club at 2 Newbury Street [4-Dykstra]. Among the paintings shown are Sargent’s El Jaleo and portraits of Isabella Stewart Gardner and the daughters of Edward Darley Boit.
