East Boston is launched from an East Boston shipyard.

A steam ferry, it is the first ship launched from an East Boston shipyard. It is followed by another ship on January 28, 1835. A third ship, the Niagara, a 460-ton, square-rigged sailing ship, is launched from the same yard on September 24, 1835.
