Duel is fought on Dorchester Neck.

June 30, 1801

Messrs. Miller and Rand engage in the duel near today’s Foundry Street. After Rand shoots and misses, according to Thomas Simonds, Miller reluctantly fires his gun, kills Rand, then flees to New York, “where he amassed an immense fortune, and died a few years since.”
