Born in Boston on November 15, 1920, Robert Drinan grows up in Hyde Park, graduates from Hyde Park High School, Boston College, and Georgetown Law School. Ordained a priest in 1953, he studies theology in Rome and becomes a professor and then dean at Boston College Law School. The first Catholic priest elected to Congress, Drinan serves in the U.S. House of Representatives (1971-81) and then teaches law in Washington, D.C., where he dies on January 28, 2007.
