Dorchester Company of Adventurers is established in London.

(Feb.) [3/31/1624-Harris] Founded by John Humphrey, Rev. John White and others from Dorchester and counties west of London, the private-for profit company is granted the patent by the Council for New England for the purpose of establishing a series of Colonial fishing camps. After receiving the patent from the Council for New England, the company is established as a joint stock company on March 31, 1624.
