Dillaway-Thomas House is built.

(ca.) Designed in the Georgian style, it is located at today’s 183 Roxbury Street. Built as the parsonage of the First Church, its first occupant is Rev. Oliver Peabody. It is occupied by Gen. John Thomas during the siege of Boston, then by Charles Dillaway, headmaster of Roxbury Latin School, from 1835 until 1903. Purchased by the city in 1927, it is later saved from demolition and preserved by the Roxbury Historical Association and the Massachusetts Department of Environmental Management and is today part of the Roxbury Heritage State Park.
