Democratic primary is held for state representative from Roxbury.

Rev. Michael Haynes and Franklin Holgate defeat Rep. Royal Bolling Sr. and Charles Ianello in the heavily contested election. All are incumbents, who were forced to run against one another due to redistricting. Haynes and Holgate go on to win in the November election.
