Daniel Stillson receives a patent for a new kind of wrench.

The Charlestown resident, an employee of the W.W. Walworth Company at its Cambridge factory, invents the first Stillson wrench, a pipe wrench useful for the increasing hot water pipes being introduced to provide central heating.
