Dainty Dot Building is built.
1889
Architect: Winslow & Wetherell. Originally the Auchmuty Building, it is located at 120 Kingston Street. The building’s major tenant, the Brown, Durrell & Company dry goods company (est. 1873), shortly before the building is renovated in 1947. The Dainty Dot Hosiery Company becomes a tenant in the 1930s and remains until the company is dissolved in 1990. More than half of the building is demolished to make way for the Central Artery in the mid 1950s. The remainder is demolished to make way for an apartment building built in 2014.*
