Cromwell’s Head Inn is built.

Originally a home called Cromwell Hall, it is located at today’s 17 – 19 School Street. The building becomes Cromwell’s Head Inn in 1705. Guests include George Washington, John Paul Jones, and Lafayette. The inn closes in 1800.
