Courier de Boston is first published.

Published by Paul Joseph Guérard de Nancréde, it is printed by Samuel Hall at 53 Cornhill. The first French language newspaper in the U.S., its purpose is to educate “foreigners, and above all merchants, in their own language, of the natural, moral and political resources of this country. Also sold in Salem, New York City, and Philadelphia, its last issue appears on October 15, 1789.
