Clap (Lemuel) House is built.
1760
(ca.) It is located initially on Willow Court. Subsequently occupied by William Clapp, the house is rebuilt in 1765, enlarged in the Georgian style in 1767, and hosts rebel troops during the Siege of Boston in 1775. The house remains in the Clapp family until it is sold to the Dorchester Historical Society in 1945 [1946]. It is moved to its current location at 199 Boston Street in 1957, and is restored thereafter.
