Clap-Field House is built.
1772
[1795-HBI] Designed in the Georgian style, it is located on what was then called the Dorchester Turnpike. The house is purchased in 1838, who, with his brother Enos, soon opens a store nearby in the area that comes to be called Fields Corner. The building is moved to its current location in 1886.* It is purchased by Patrick O’Hearn in the 1890s, who converts it and adjacent buildings to a brick-cladded storage warehouse in approximately 1918. The building is subsequently purchased by Historic Boston Inc.
