Church of the Disciples (first) is dedicated.

(March) The plain brick building is located on Freeman Place, an alley off Beacon Street across from the Boston Athenaeum. The building is sold and the congregation meets in rented halls until it merges with and moves to the Indiana Street Congregational Church (second) on Shawmut Avenue in 1855.*
