Church of Saints Peter and Paul (first) is built.

Architect: Gridley Bryant. It is located at 45 West Broadway. The church is heavily damaged by a fire in 1848 and replaced by a new building (second) in 1855.* The church closes in 1995, and the new building is converted to luxury condominiums in 2003.*
