Charles Laquidara is hired as a disc jockey at WBCN.

(Jan.) A native of Milford, he graduated from the Rhode Island School of Design and became an actor and disc jockey in California before joins WBCN. He becomes the morning DJ in 1973, hosting a popular program that comes to be called The Big Mattress, known for its irreverent comedy as much for its music. After leaving the station for two years, he retires to Hawaii in 2000.
