Cambridge is chosen as the first capital of the Massachusetts Bay Colony.
December 28, 1630
The capital and meeting place for the General Court is moved to Charlestown in 1630, then to Boston. It returns to Cambridge from 1634 to 1636, and alternates with Boston, where it permanently locates in 1638.
