Bunker Hill public housing development opens.

(Nov.) Officially the Charlestown family housing development, it is located at 55 Bunker Hill Street. The Boston Housing Authority demolished 461 structures to make way for the 41-building development. The complex has undergone major renovations since 1992. Redevelopment of the site begins in 2023, with plans calling for a 15-building development with 2,699 units, 1,010 of them affordable to low income residents.
