Bullock (Adolphous and Leslie Maye “Toni”) are born 1922 and 1923, respectively, and later arrive in Boston.
1922
The son of a minister and his wife, Adolphous Bullock was born in Norfolk, Virginia, and served at Normandy during World War II. “Toni” Harris was born in North Carolina, and and served in the Negro Women’s Army Corps. After meeting in the service and marrying, the couple moves to Boston and opens their funeral home in the former John Fottler House at 389 Washington Street. They subsequently serve a primarily black clientele, until closing their business in 1999. Toni Bullock dies in 2011, Aldous on April 17, 2014, and both are buried in Forest Hills Cemetery.
