Brighton Evangelical Congregational Church (first) holds its first service.

The church is located at 404 Washington Street. The congregation was established by dissatisfied members of the First Church in Brighton. George Blagden is the first minister. A new church (second) is built in 1868,* and then replaced by the current church (third) in 1921.*
