Brighton Avenue Baptist Church is dedicated.

It is located at the site of today’s fire station at Union Square. Originally the Baptist Society, the congregation first met on October 21, 1855 at Union Hall. Rev. Joseph Graves is the first minister. The church is destroyed by a fire in 1931. The site is now occupied by the Union Square Fire Station..
