Brigham and Women’s Hospital and Children’s Hospital receive two of their largest gifts.

(Jan.) Telecommunications executive Robert Hale Jr. and his wife Karen make unrestricted gifts of $50 million to each hospital. It is the largest gift ever received by the Brigham and ties as the largest gift ever received by Children’s, which will be used to build an 11-story building on the former site of the Prouty Garden. Both hospitals plan to name buildings after the couple.
