Brewer (Stephen) House is built.

[1716-JPHS] Designed in the Georgian style, it is initially located on Centre Street. One of the oldest houses in Jamaica Plain, it is subsequently converted to a tavern on the stagecoach route from Boston to Providence. The building is subsequently moved to its current location (then 25 Thomas Street).
