Boys and Girls Club of Charlestown opens.

1893

Originally the Bunker Hill Boys Club, it subsequently moves to 15 Green Street. The first Boys Club in Boston, it is followed by a clubs in Roxbury in 1910* and South Boston in 1938.* The Boys Club of Boston is organized in 1922. Girls are subsequently allowed membership and the organization’s name is changed to the Boys & Girls Clubs of Boston in 1981. A Dorchester/Mattapan clubhouse opens in 1995.
