Bowdoin Square Theatre opens.

February 15, 1892

Architect: Clarence Blackall. And Leon H. Lempert. It is located at 1 Bowdoin Square (179 – 187 Court Street). The theater seats 1,365 and initially presents vaudeville, but later shifts to screening movies. The theater closes on May 27, 1955 and the building is demolished to make way for the Government Center project in the early 1960s.
