Mattapan Chronic Disease Boston Sanatorium for Consumptives is established.

1906

[1910] Originally the Boston Sanatorium for Consumptives, it is located on the former Conness estate on River Street. Built to house patients quarantined with tuberculosis, it is subsequently renamed the Boston Specialty and Rehabilitation Hospital. Expanded in 1928, the facility closes on October 1, 1996.
