A former aide to Joseph Pulitzer, Grozier’s vows to make the Post “The greatest breakfast table paper of New England.” He also initiates a series of promotional stunts, including two of particular note in 1909* and 1913,* that help increase circulation from less than 30,000 to over 600,000 in 1919, the largest of any newspaper in the U.S.
