It is the 25th largest city in the U.S. Of its total population, 301,464 (44.6%) are White Alone, an increase of 11,152 (3.8%) from 2010; 129,264 (19.1%) are Black or African-American Alone, a decrease of 8,809 (-6.4%) from 2010; 126,113 (18.7%) are Hispanic or Latino, an increase of 18,196 (16.9%) from 2010; 75,588 (11.2%) Asian Alone; 989 (0.1%) American Indian and Alaska Native Alone; 251 (0.0%) Native Hawaiian and Other Pacific Islander Alone; 9,257 (1.4%) Other Race Alone; and 32,271 (4.8%) Two or More Races. Boston’s population increased by 58,043 (9.4%) since 2010, exceeding the growth of the state (7.4%). 55.4% of the population is classified as non-white, the third decade in a row that Boston is classified as a majority-minority city.
