Boston Parking Cap is imposed.

Imposed by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, the cap limits the parking spaces in downtown Boston commercial parking facilities to the number that existed as of October 15, 1973, which is 35,503. The cap, now 35,556, continues in effect today.
