Boston Latin School (first) is built.

The 40 x 25-foot log cabin is located at today’s 45 School Street. It is replaced by a new building (second) on the same site in 1704,* another (third) across the street in 1748,* another (fourth) on the same site in 1812,* a shared building (fifth) with the English High School on Bedford Street in 1844, another shared building (sixth) in the South End in 1880 and dedicated in 1881,* and the current building (seventh) in Fenway in 1922.*
