Boston Housing Court is established.

It is created by a law passed by the Massachusetts legislature and signed by Gov. Frank Sargent. The first housing court in Massachusetts, it convenes initially in August 1972. Paul Garrity is the first judge. In its first year, the court hears more than 3,000 cases. Within two years the caseload grows to five times that number. Edward Daher is appointed its second judge on October 27, 1974.
