Boston Harbor Cleanup Lawsuit (first) is filed.

City of Quincy files suit in state court against the Massachusetts District Commission to stop the discharge of untreated sewage into Boston Harbor. The suit, which came about after Quincy city solicitor William Golden went jogging in 1981 on Wollaston Beach and found it covered with human waste, is decided by the Massachusetts Superior Court in 1984.*
