Boston debutante is described by Boston Herald society editor Allison Arnold.

May 1, 1949

Arnold subsequently writes, “After 18 years of being first rolled in the right English-style pram covered with a monogrammed carriage robe, attending the ‘right school,’ wearing clothes from the ‘right shops,’ weekly going to the ‘right dancing school’ where learns to waltz and two-step, attending the ‘right boarding school,’ and perhaps as pre-initiation treat having seen the Vincent Show and the Hasty Pudding Show at Harvard, in her senior year at school, the young sub deb is now ready for the year in her life.”
