Boston College School of Nursing is established.

It is located at 126 Newbury Street. The school is initially affiliated with Carney Hospital in Boston, St. Joseph’s in Lowell, and St. Vincent’s in Worcester. It subsequently offers a Bachelor of Science degree and moves to Chestnut Hill in 1960.
