Boston City Club (second) opens.

Architect: Newhall & Blevins. It is located at 12 – 14 Somerset Street. The building contains two restaurants, a movie theater, and guest rooms. It becomes home of the United Way from 1949 to 1978. Purchased by Suffolk University, it is renamed the Frank Sawyer Building and reopens as a classroom and administration building in 1981.
