Boston Bruins lose in the Stanley Cup semifinals in Montreal.

The Bruins lose to the Canadiens in overtime in game 7 at the Forum. Leading by a goal late, the Bruins are penalized for having too many men on the ice with 2:34 left in the game. Montreal ties the game on a goal by Guy Lafleur with 74 seconds left in the third period and goes on to beat the Bruins in overtime.
