The Boston Globe subsequently reports that despite “The Anti-Enjoyment of Anything League, which fought tooth and nail against granting Sunday baseball because it would have a disastrous effect on the morals. . . there were no drunken, disorderly persons cluttering up the premises, no crap games, and as far as could be learned, nobody’s pockets were picked.”
