Body of a child is found washed ashore on a beach on Deer Island.

June 25, 2015

A memorial at Deer Island is dedicated to the child, who for months is called “Baby Doe,” on the beach in Winthrop on September 18, 2015, the same day that she is identified as Bella Amoroso Bond, 2 1/2, of Maxwell Street, Dorchester. The child’s mother, who had become pregnant while homeless and living in a tent during the Occupy Boston protest in 2011, and the mother’s boyfriend are currently awaiting trial for manslaughter.
