Blake-Tuckerman Houses are built.
1815
(ca.) Architect: Charles Bulfinch. Designed in the Federal style, the granite, double house is located at 5 Bowdoin Square. Built by merchant Samuel Parkman for his two daughters, Mrs. Edward Blake and Mrs. Edward Tuckerman, it is subsequently converted to a boarding house in which Thomas Bulfinch, son of the architect, writes part of his Bulfinch’s Mythology. The building is demolished to make way for construction of a new building in 1902.*
