Bingham McCuthcen LLP law firm is established.

Founded by Edward Blodgett and Eugene Carver, the firm comes to be known as Bingham, Dana & Gould when Norman Bingham becomes the fourth associate in 1898. The firm gradually increases in size over the years by taking over smaller firms, then grows more dramatically when it merges with the California law firm of McCutchen, Doyle, Brown & Emerson in 2002 to become one of the largest in Boston.
